March 27 marked the second International Medical Science Liaison Day, a day that recognizes the vital role Medical Science Liaisons (MSL) play in the success of companies such as UCB. At UCB, we salute our MSL colleagues all over the world who, through their continuous dedication and hard work, help us deliver on our Patient Value Strategy.
In case you were not aware, MSLs are field-based scientific experts for a specific therapy or therapeutic area. They provide accurate and balanced information to healthcare providers and other key external stakeholders. And if you were wondering about their specialist role, it might typically include everything from responding to requests for information to providing training to sales marketing, and market access teams.
Their regular engagement with external stakeholders means they are well-placed to gather crucial insights to inform business strategy and product development. And they themselves implement key medical strategies that enhance and positively impact patient care, access and outcomes.
At UCB, we like to think of our MSL colleagues as the medical ambassadors who raise awareness and share information about our scientific innovations. They partner with healthcare professionals to advance our science and enhance the standard of care for our patients.
Their scientific expertise is critical to the success of our integrated go-to-market model. So much so that we put them at the forefront of all our product launches. Here they ensure their local healthcare ecosystems are ready to offer our new therapeutic solutions to patients with unmet needs.
UCB is proud to support International MSL Day. Having an official day dedicated to MSLs is a unique way to recognize the profession and shine the light on our MSL colleagues' crucial role. After all, they contribute so very much to ongoing the success of our company.
Join us as we pay homage to our MSL colleagues. #ThankyouMSL
