At UCB, we create value for patients and society by providing life-improving therapies. But we also deliver for individuals and communities by providing solutions that go beyond medicine.

We are committed to supporting people with immunological conditions while demonstrating corporate societal responsibility. In this spirit, the Spanish Society of Rheumatology (SER), with UCB Iberia, have made a collaboration of €3,000 to SOS Aldeas Infantiles (Children’s Villages) to support vulnerable families.

The collaboration is part of the award-winning #HoySiPuedo (#TodayICan) campaign. Together, SER and UCB are supporting at-risk families who need assistance in caring for and educating their children. With the right support from initiatives like SOS Aldeas Infantiles , families can avoid more drastic actions such as separating children from parents.

Aldeas Infantiles is the largest direct care for children organization in Spain. Is an international, non-profit organisation whose mission is to care for vulnerable children and young people by strengthening their family, social and community networks. It deliver s valued services through its day centre programme for children and families at risk. At UCB, we have great admiration for the dedication and work they do to protect and strengthen families, and support young people.

UCB’s support was highlighted at an event hosted at SOS Aldeas Infantiles headquarters which was attended by representatives from UCB and SER. The President of the SER, Dr. Juan Gómez-Reino Carnota highlighted the collaboration with UCB, enabling the development of the emotional campaign #HoySiPuedo which shows that rheumatic diseases are no longer a limitation for patients to have a family.

It was an opportunity to highlight not only the medical needs of people with serious conditions, but also the emotional and social supports that can help them to live their best lives.
